Sign of Spring
It's March in Winnipeg and it's looking good. The temperature lately has been hovering around zero, which is very nice and mild. Dare I say it, early spring?!
Probably not, usually we are teased repeatedly and an inevitable cold snap is just waiting to reclaim the winter. I noticed the hoar frost yesterday and ran out to take a picture of this tree outside my building.
Winter can be depressing, especially after five months. Photography can be a fun way to take your mind off of what you don't like about the weather and train yourself to see things a little differently. You can embrace the season and use it to your advantage by taking different and wonderful pictures that are only possible at this time of year. You will start to see the winter in a whole new light and may catch yourself hunting for unique photographic opportunities where you otherwise would have been miserable.
Frosted trees are beautiful, however here's hoping it's a sign of warmer weather to come!

So its January in Winnipeg, but believe it or not the weather has been very nice lately. The last few days have been hovering around -5c. But I'm not kidding myself, I know that the nice weather will not last long and it will be back to the -30c range for most of winter. So I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
